Joining the OII
When you arrive in Oxford, you will be given an OII username and password, as well as an IT induction.
Make sure you read the University’s IT rules and regulations.
Leaving the OII
Your Oxford Single Sign-On remains active only for as long as a user has a valid University card.
When you leave Oxford, from after your agreed leaving date your Oxford IT Services-managed usernames will be deactivated.
If you need your access extended, please contact hr@oii.ox.ac.uk (the IT team cannot extend access).
See the University’s Finishing page for the deactivation procedure upon card expiry (usually when you leave) and what entitlements you will lose. Ensure you back up email and data BEFORE your end date.
Data
When you leave the OII, we will retain the data you stored in Vault (home) and your desktop for ONE MONTH. It is your responsibility to ensure that all your data is backed up before you leave.
Equipment
Please return all OII equipment to the IT Office (computers and accessories) in your possession – these remain property of the University even if purchased on a research grant.
